Yes. Free tier covers the core: Circles, live map, Ledger (7 days), Ping, Ghost Mode, and Crash Detection. Plus and Family are optional upgrades for power users. We don't run ads or sell data to fund the free tier — we fund it from Plus subscribers who love the app.
Three big things: (1) You see everyone who checks your location in the Ledger — Life360 hides that. (2) You have to Ping someone before pulling up their live location — no silent tracking. (3) We don't sell data. See the full comparison table above.
Your Circle sees the status “Going ghost” instead of your live location. It's honest silence — better than a lie or a mysterious black hole. You can toggle it off anytime, or schedule it (Plus).
Yes. Orbito uses iOS & Android background location so your Circle sees you move even when the app is closed. You can turn this off in Profile → Privacy to save battery.
One tap in Profile → Delete my account. Everything scoped to you is wiped from our servers. Financial records (for tax audit purposes) are kept but stripped of your name and email.
